Traders at the Ahenkro Market in Afigya Kwabre North district of Ashanti have expressed worry over the poor sanitation in the market.
Traders said the situation had been persistent over the years calling on authorities of the district Assembly led by Hon. Karikari Acheamfour to solve the problem because it poses a health hazard to them.
In an interview with some of the traders, they indicated that the situation had created a lot of inconvenience for them as well as buyers.
They said the situation becomes worse when it rains.
“Whenever it rains the place becomes so muddy that nobody would come and buy, our foodstuffs get spoilt and business slows down, So the few that come, we sell to them cheaply and at the end of the day, we run at a loss. So we are pleading with the government to come to our aid,” they said.
