Book Binders Association of Ghana to join Ghana Union of Traders Association Guta on strike coming Monday if nothing happens.

Speaking at a press conference at Bubuashie in Accra, the local chairman for the Book Binders Association of Ghana, Kwame Appiagyei stressed that, government has awarded contracts to the big industries but they are the casual workers who works for such industries so they are calling on government to address the concerns of the local producers amicable.

He noted that, the Association and its members also has capacity to produce note books and exercise books for both private and public schools, which also create employment for the youth.
He therefore added that, the materials such as 90gm of Ream is costing GHC690 in January and seven months now is GHC 850 respectively and news print is GHS 320 and GHS 400, which makes it very difficult to work with this high cost of materials to produce affordable books for both private and public schools.

However, some of the Association members also spoke to us about the challenges and difficulties foreigners like the Indians and the Chinese has brought upon the industry.
