A Seventy (70) year old man has committed suicide at Gomoa-Manso in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
According to the report, Nana Kofi the deceased committed the act after a divorce from his wife.
Information revealed that the late Nana Kofi was the “Abusuapanin” for the Kona clan at Gomoa-Manso.
His long time wedded wife (name withheld) divorced him somewhere in 2020 over a reason that can be best explained the wife alone.
All attempts to get his wife back over the past two years proved futile.
According to the report, Nana Kofi attempted suicide after the divorce by taking in weedicide but was saved by the timely intervention of some relatives in the house.
Unfortunately, the old man succeeded in committing suicide by hanging in his room on Thursday August,25,2022 early in the morning.
The body of the deceased has being deposited at the Apam Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The case has been also reported to the Apam police station for further investigation.
