C/R Gomoa Potin Implementation Of Free Education Has Been Successful With Few Challenges…Samira Bawumia

The second lady of the Republic of Ghana who doubles as the founder and CEO of Samira Empowerment Humanitarian Project, Mrs. Samira Bawumia has hinted that, the implementation of the Free Shs policy, one of the major campaign promise by the current government npp which was introduced 6 years ago has been successful with few challenges which the government is seriously addressing.

According to her, the aim for the implementation is to help provide education for every Ghanaian child. She said, education is every country’s great asset and must be taken serious.

She added that, the government has also extended the Free Education to the TVET sector were the first years has already benefited .

Samira Bawumia made this pronouncement to Mireku Nyampong during 50th anniversary celebration by Gomoa Potin T.I Ahammadiyya Senior High school at Gomoa Potsin in the central region .

She congratulated the school for their celebrations and also providing prominent personality in the country. She urged students to take their education serious since education is the key to success.

Also, Headmistress of the school Hajia Zainab Adams during her address appealed to government, old students of the school, NGOs to come to their aid since the school has major challenge. Their challenge includes Assembly hall, dining hall, sick bay and other challenges.

In response to their challenges, deputy minister for education Hon Ntim Fordjour stated that, their challenges has been heard and will be given the needed attention.

He added that, the government will continue to provide them with all the necessary needs. According to the minister, the school has already benefiting from some government projects and will continue to receive more.
