A 40 year old man has been beaten to death for stealing plantain in a farm at Ajumako Bisease in
the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.
The suspect, Kwame Essel who was a popular plantain thief was caught in the process of stealing the plantains at the farm with one other who run away after seeing the owner of the plantain.
The suspect comes from Ajumako Kokoben but went and steal the plantains from Bisease.
Residents are therefore happy for the death of the suspect.
According to report gathered by kweku Darko the suspect early in the morning went to the farm and steal plantains and sold them to a plantain buyer but rejected them after the suspect failed to tell where he got the plantains from, He then sold it to strangers who have come to funeral.
At the evening , around 4:30 he want to the same farm to steal plantains again but unfortunately he was caught.
He was then made to carry the plantains on his head and made to roam through the principal street of Ajumako Bisease while beaten him.
Some angry residents beat him to a pulp and was rushed to the Ajumako Bisease Polyclinic to receive treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Information gathered indicates that,this was not the first time the suspect has been caught in the acts of stealing.
According to the residents he was on the police wanted list after several complains.
The case was reported to the Ajumako Bisease Police Station for investigation.
No arrest has been made so far and police investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile ,the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
He left behind a wife and two Children.
