Residents , traditional authorities in Gomoa Akraman a suburb of Kasoa in the Gomoa East District of central region have called on the Inspector General of Police Cop Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and interior minister Hon. Ambrose Dery to intervene since Languards activities is rapidly rising in the area.
According to some aggrieved traditional rulers, Landguards nowadays are seriously terrorizing them on daily basis destroying lives and properties a situation they described as disturbing and worrying.
The Abusuapanyin of Gomoa Akraman Nana Kwame Ansah narrating his ordeal to Mireku nyampong hinted that, this Landguards are being recruited and sponsored by a self styled chiefs at Awutu Breku called Raman, they are now calling on the lGP to intervene since the situation is becoming unbearable.
We are living in fear in Gomoa Akraman since the activities of Landguards are too pathetic and dangerous nowadays, the painful aspect is that, there’s a Landguards kingpin called Raman from Awutu Breku who has went to the extent of destroying lives and properties where series of petitions on such unlawful activities were sent to Central East Regional police command but it yielded no results, he alleged.
He further alleged that, Raman who is reported to have recruited over 200 Landguards claimed he has bribed all senior police officers in the central East Regional police command and so no one can touch him.
On the other hand, some aggrieved residents in Gomoa Akraman who narrated their ordeal hinted that, if the lGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare and interior minister Ambrose Dery refuse to attend to their plea they are going to wield guns and face the Land guards led by Raman from Awutu Breku boot for boot.
Mireku nyampong went to the alleged Land guards kingpin Raman to know his side of the story but he refused to grant interview but rain insult on journalist who visited him.
