The president of the Diabetes Association of Ghana, Elizabeth Esi Denyo has stated diabetes has taken more lives than Covid-19 between 2020 till date.
She therefore called on government and the ministry of health to let diabetes related issues be their priority to help bridge the gap.
According to her, diabetes is like a tsunami and a lots of people are dying because of diabetes, which needs much attention.
Speaking at the launch of the of the world Diabetes Day, Elizabeth Esi Denyo urged Ghanaians to inculcate the exercise which can help prevent someone being diagnosed with diabetes.
The world Diabetes Day was gazetted by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organisation(WHO) in 1991 to create awareness on diabetes.
Esi Denyo pleaded with government to do the for diabetes as Covid-19 has a fund, because there is no guidelines for diabetes management in Ghana.
