The Awutu Senya East Municipal environmental department has today Lockup 5 public toilet facilities and has also issue summon letters to others to produce their permit of Operations.
The purpose for locking up this facilities includes discharging their waste into the public drains which will bring health implications to the community .
Speaking to Mireku Nyampong Mr. Gabriel Agyei Brefa, Senior Public health engineer for Awutu Senya East Municipality said, there has been an engagement and education between all public operators yet some operators has fail to comply with the directives .
According to him, owners whose facilities has been locked will be send to court. Mr Gabriel Agyei Brefa added that they will continue to embark on such operations to help bring proper sanity in the environmental sector within the municipality to avoid any disease outbreak. The operation took place at Kasoa zongo, Kasoa main lorry station.
Mr Gabriel Agyei Brefa said their next operation will be on the chop bar, food joint seller and restaurant operators .
