Following the announcement of new tariff increment by the Public Utility Regulatory Commission (PURC), it has generated a lot of noise in the media space where some section of the public say this move will worsen the current economic woes they battling to live with and its of this some residents of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region have added theirs.
The Public Utility Regulatory Commission on Monday August 15, 202 during a press conference in Accra announced to the general public the 2022-2025 new tariffs increment after many times of postponding the increment.
The PURC increased electricity tariffs by 27.15% and water tariffs by 21.55% and added that small and medium businesses this time round will pay less as compared to payment to be made by domestic customers.
Reacting to this increment, Kasoa residents noted that this is a sign that the current Akufo Addo led Government has failed in managing the country and thus added that the governing NPP government must forget about breaking the 8.
Some section also said the government is refusing to give ears to the cries of Ghanaians by going forward to increase tariffs. They believe this worsen the already economic hardship created by this government that they are not yet done battling with.
