Mahama Calls for Unity among Parliamentary Aspirants After Primaries

Former president, H.E John Dramani Mahama, has urged parliamentary aspirants of the National Democratic Congress, NDC in the Kintampo North constituency to unite after the primaries in order to win the 2024 elections.

Speaking to delegates and supporters of the party at the central SDA church in Kintampo, Mr. Mahama admonished the aspirants to, in case they lose the primaries, rally their support behind the winning candidate during the campaign toward the main presidential and parliamentary elections in 2024 adding that even if they lose, they still have something to benefit from if the NDC comes to power.

 

Meanwhile, some aspirants have been sharing their campaign messages to the public and urging the delegates vote for them.

One aspirant, Fridaus Mubarak Yussif, in a media interview reiterated his vision to create more jobs and opportunities for the Youth through education, sports, tourism, agric and business when given the chance. He said as a youth himself, he knows the plights of the youth in the constituency and will be the right person to lead in mitigating those plights.

 

Another Aspirant, Kofi Baffoe also said his main focus is on the agric, Employment,education , health, tourism and building of the NDC party from the grassroot level. He said he has already started doing the things he’s promising adding that more is yet to come after the wins.

 

Richard Kwadwo combat, after touting his educational credentials, indicated his vast experience in many sectors including Agriculture and Security adding that that qualifies him for a ministerial, C.E.O or Board membership position which he believes will be an advantage to the Kintampo North constituency. He added that he has more connections with the top hierarchy of the party which he can use to pull more developmental projects to the Kintampo North constituency

 

Another Aspirant, Dr.Yennusung Maalug, a lecturer at the Kintampo college of Health and Wellbeing also said one of his main priorities is to empower executives of the party from the branch and constituency levels with the needed resources and independence to operate , this he said, will ensure victory for the party during elections. He added that the current MP is doing his part but a new face is needed to change the fortunes of the party of whom he is the one.

 

The current member of Parliament, MP for Kintampo North, Hon. Joseph Kwame Kumah known widely as Jakala who is also seeking reelection to represent the party again in the 2024 elections, took time to enumerate his achievements as an MP for his two and half years in office based on which he called on delegates of the party to renew his mandate to represent the party. He touted his ability to pull more votes than any other NDC candidate since 1992 to win the 2024 parliamentary seat and his numerous achievements in various sectors of the economy including education, agriculture, Health and others.
