Students at the Bosomtwe Oyoko Community Day Senior High School in the Ashanti region are likely to abandoned the school due to the deteriorating nature of the school and lack of facilities.
The school which was build under Mahama led government, Bosomtwe Oyoko Comm. Senior High was established as a Community-Initiated Project in 2017 in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region. but used under Akuffo Addo’s administration six years ago have not seen any facelift even though is located at the Education Minister’s Constituency.
The school does not have proper structured bathhouse but a wooden structure covered with roofing sheets serving as bathhouse for both boys and girls.
The only ICT Lab for students does not have a single computer and therefore teachers have to use black board in teaching.
Students have also complained of frequent attack by community gang boys due to unfenced nature of the school and lack of Lab for science students.
“Sometimes, snakes and scorpions comes into our classrooms and our bathhouse because the place is too bushes” a student said.
“The only rooms serving as dormitory for distance students do not have Louvre blades in the windows and therefore exposed them to mosquitoes and other harmful insects “another student.
