Pregnant Mother, Two Children Burnt To Death

A pregnant woman and her two children have been burnt to death after fire razed their home at Ohwim in Bantama constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The inferno occurred on Monday, August 15, at about 11pm when the family was asleep in their room.

The four including the baby in the womb were burnt beyond recognition as fire swept through their apartment, which housed six people including a tenant.

Nadjat, SHS student and a daughter of the deceased was able to escape death when he run away while other two tenants was not around by the time of the incident, The woman has been identified as Akua Philomena  a 37 year old woman.

The children are nine (9) -year-old Donard and seven (7) year- Junior.

The Assembly member of the area Hon Ebo Morrison told SARKODIE PEPRAH that the fire destroyed everything in the house.

Residents in the area suspect foul play since they have been attacked by same fire but was able to quench it.

The daughter who was able to escaped is assisting police in investigation.

The charred bodies of the deceased persons have also been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Morgue.
