The Manklalo of Ada Traditional Council, Nene Agudey Obichere III says, Management of Radio Ada has been invited to address the ensuing infriction between the station and the traditional authorities.
He indicated that, the traditional council will meet in the coming days to decide the fate of the station but it was quick it came out that the council has banned the station.
He added that, they do not intend the station from operating because they don’t have the power to do so.
Radio was restricted from covering the just ended Asafotufiam in their traditional area over allegations of disrespect and insult that some presenters have done against the traditional leaders.
Expressing his personal opinion to Obaatanpa news, Nene Agudey stated that, radio Ada was only restricted from interviewing the traditional leaders this was in responds to the statement issued by the Ghana journalist Association, says it is unacceptable and affront to press freedom for the Ada Traditional Council to ban Radio Ada from covering the Asafotufiam festival.
The President of the Association, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwunfour said this when he addressed the media in Accra. He said the Ada Traditional Council did not have the right or powers to impose such restrictions on Radio Ada and its staff.
The Traditional council are yet to start the peace talk with the management of the Radio Station in question.
