The youth of Ghana are playing an important role in both local and national development. In developing democracy in Ghana, one of the key factors that motivates the youth in playing active role in politics and governance is political ideologies.

On this note, a communication team member and a women organizer hopeful for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tain Constituency, in the Bono Region, Mrs. Amponsah Gyan Gloria (Yaa-Asantewaa), has reiterated that the Nana-Addo led NPP government has no better future plans and ideologies for the youth in Ghana, therefore had made the Ghanaian youth seeming irrelevant for development.

The women organizer hopeful bemoaned on the abandoned Ghanaian youth to their fates as the NPP do not bring youth matters into consideration and do not provides opportunities to mainstream the voices, actions and initiatives of young people and the meaningful participation of the country’s economy.

She said, from the basics of development, the government do not promote the youth’s ideals to be responsible as citizens. Saying that the youth needed permanent jobs and not transient jobs, urging that the government to poise the one district, one factory policy to enhance the youth, especially, the NabCo beneficiaries.

In an exclusive interview she  accounted that the programs that have been initiated by the NPP government seems to snigger Ghanaians, hence the sober of most Ghanaian youth not grasping the initiatives aimed for them.

She added, “Contrary to Akufo-Addo’s government fanciful promises to create jobs for the youth, they have rather increased unemployment situation through the collapse of businesses, therefore struggling to get daily meals and saddled with unbearable taxes to further worsen previous living standards”.

The NDC women organizerer hopeful noted that the state of the Ghanaian youth under this current government is in hopelessness and clueless on how to address the challenges facing the youth in the country.

“Today, we have the largest youth population in history and the majority of them are committed to sustainable development with their knowledge, talents and ambitions, but there is no conducive agendas to create better world for themselves”, she cited.

She concluded that as a country, there should be adequate preparedness for the youth through deliberate policy actions to play positive and pivotal role in realizing a youth beyond aid in the country, urging that failing in the policy action regards may serve as breeding grounds in reversing the gains made in the current dispensations of the country’s democratic governance.
